A high-quality semen analysis is a fundamental step in diagnosing male fertility. The examination serves as a reliable diagnostic test that provides important data for deciding on the most appropriate treatment strategy.
Semen analysis as part of male fertility assessment
Semen analysis is the primary laboratory test used when reduced male fertility is suspected. It helps determine whether sperm are capable of natural fertilization or whether assisted reproductive techniques (IUI, IVF, ICSI) should be considered.
Unlike conventional manual evaluation, a complete semen analysis with the LensHooke X12 PRO system:
- reduces examination time,
- enables objective sperm assessment,

Results are evaluated according to World Health Organization (WHO) criteria.
Which parameters are evaluated?
The examination includes assessment of the main semen parameters:
- sperm concentration,
- sperm motility (progressive, non-progressive, immotile),
- sperm morphology (head, neck, and tail shape).
The report also includes photographic documentation of the sample directly incorporated into the laboratory report.
Notice: This is a diagnostic test only. Sperm are not selected during this procedure, and the sample cannot be used for fertilization. For sperm selection, we recommend the MFSS and ICSI methods.
When is semen analysis recommended?

How is the examination performed?
- You schedule an appointment for sample collection.
- 24 hours of sexual abstinence is required before sample collection.
- After submitting the sample to the laboratory, an analysis is performed using the LensHooke device.
- The basic parameters are evaluated automatically.
- We prepare a detailed laboratory report according to WHO criteria.
